Al-Jubail Contracting Company has commenced the implementation of the Amman Development Corridor Lighting Rehabilitation and Operation Project, following the completion of all technical and contractual procedures and the official award of the contract by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, with a total project value of approximately JOD 1.4 million.
The project extends over 42 kilometers and includes the supply and installation of high-efficiency LED lighting units powered entirely by solar energy, providing full coverage along the corridor. Priority is being given to key intersections, entry and exit points, and high-traffic sections to enhance road safety and improve nighttime visibility in accordance with international standards and specifications.
The project incorporates an advanced smart lighting system equipped with automated controls that adjust illumination levels based on traffic density and operating hours. The system also enables remote monitoring of lighting poles, batteries, and overall performance, ensuring operational reliability, sustainability, and efficient maintenance.
This project reflects JCC’s commitment to delivering sustainable infrastructure solutions and adopting innovative, environmentally friendly technologies. By utilizing solar energy, the lighting system operates independently of the conventional power grid, reducing vulnerabilities associated with power outages and cable damage while ensuring continuous and efficient operation.
